| BIOGRAPHY
|
| Al Bonnell (January 26, 1909-January 12, 1980) was a NASCAR driver from Erie, PA. He competed in two Sprint Cup Series events in his career, earning one top-ten.
Both of Bonnell's starts came in 1949, when he debuted at Langhorne. Starting 17th in the race, Bonnell had a solid afternoon and drove home 9th. Although he wasn't able to top that later in the year at Pittsburgh, it was still a success for Bonnell. He shocked the field by winning the pole, but then didn't even complete a lap before falling to 23rd to end his career.
