The Baby Rattler (sometimes simply called the Pro Rattler) is a 125-lap Pro Late Model race held at South Alabama Speedway, traditionally on the first Saturday of March. It was introduced in 2006 as the counterpart to The Rattler, a Super Late Model race that has been held at the speedway since the 1970s.
Despite being mainly an event for local drivers in 2006, the event has quickly bloomed into one of the premier PLM races in the Southeast. Chase Elliott became the 6th different winner in as many runnings of the race with a last lap pass in 2011.
The 2012 Baby Rattler is expected to be held on March 3rd.
