BIOGRAPHY
Bill Baker (June 19, 1931 - August 12, 1978) is a former NASCAR driver from Pismo Beach, CA. He competed in three Sprint Cup Series events in his career.

Baker's debut came in 1977, when he competed at Riverside. Starting 33rd in the field of thirty-five, Baker only completed half of the race before clutch woes left him 28th. Luckily, Baker improved when he returned to Riverside in June. That time, Baker fell just seven laps down and drove his way to a career-best 16th place finish.

It was a struggle for Baker in his final start, returning to Riverside again in 1978. Starting 33rd in the field of thirty-five, Baker fell victim to an oil leak early in the race and finished a disappointing 34th.
