| Charlie Baker (May 4, 1952 - ) is a former NASCAR driver from New Oxford, PA. He competed in twelve Sprint Cup Series events in his career.
Baker's debut came during the 1982 season, when he drove for Henley Gray at Pocono. Starting 19th in the field of thirty-six, Baker had a solid race at his home track and wound up 18th despite late engine woes. A broken rear end gear hurt Baker's chances in his next start at Talladega (31st), but he had a nice run to close out the year: 19th at Michigan.
Baker did not return to action until the 1986 season, when he competed at Rockingham. It was a respectable return for the driver, running up from 34th in the starting grid to a solid 18th place finish.
Baker revamped his schedule to a two-race deal for the 1987 season. He was again quite solid in his Rockingham efforts, completing all but twenty-nine laps in the race to finish in 21st. However, Baker struggled in his other start that year, crashing to 33rd at Atlanta.
Baker's next start came in 1988, when he again only competed at Rockingham. Baker's luck at the "Rock" had run out though, as a burnt clutch early in the race left him in 38th place.
Three more starts lined Baker's resume during the 1989 season, when he recorded a career-best 57th place finish in the final points. It was a mixed year for the driver. He made the prestigious Daytona 500 in February, but crashed out of the race to finish in 40th. He was also 40th (last) in Rockingham due to a blown water pump. His only respectable run of the year came at Talladega, when Baker completed all but nine laps to finish 26th.
Baker's final two starts came during the 1990 season, though it was a tough end to the driver's career. He ran both Rockingham races, but engine issues only allowed him to complete 8.5% of the possible laps in the pair of races. He finished 37th in the February race and 40th (last) in the October race as a result.
