The Third Turn has complete results to the Governor's Cup events in 1969, 1977, 1991, and 1998-present. Partial results are available for all other years in event history.
  • While a "State Late Model Championship" race had been contested beginning in 1963, the race did not receive official recognition from the Florida Governor's office until 1965. As such, The Third Turn begins the history of the event with that 1965 date to match the trophy and New Smyrna official records. The race was not run in 1980. And while DeSoto Speedway took control of the race from 1984-1987, the Governor's Cup was not awarded those years either so The Third Turn omits those races from the Governor's Cup portal.
