All of his Busch events came in 1984, when Affleck debuted at Daytona. Starting 40th (last) in the race, Affleck had early engine failure and finished 31st. He improved over his next two races, finishing 21st at Rockingham (only race running at the finish) and finished a career-best 18th at Darlington despite late engine failure.
