Halfway point is, as it sounds, the point in a NASCAR race when half of the scheduled laps have been completed. It is marked by the green flag being crossed by the white flag.

The most important thing about the halfway point is that a race is official. If rain, snow or any other issue arises need for the race to be ended early, the results will stand following the halfway point.
