| Harold Smith is a former NASCAR driver from Dayton, OH. He competed in nine Sprint Cup Series events in his career, earning one top-five.
Smith's debut came during the 1959 season, when he competed in the inaugural Speedweeks at Daytona. Starting 22nd in the Daytona 500 Qualifier Twin, Smith finished 21st and subsequently transferred into the first 500. There, Smith had a midpack effort and wound up 31st.
Smith also ran the Speedweeks events for his lone 1960 starts. Starting 7th in the Qualifier race, Smith quickly fell out of it and finished 32nd. But his time in qualifying rescued him regardless, allowing Smith to make the 500, where he finished 49th with a blown engine halfway through the race.
Smith did not return until the 1966 season, but made quite a show of it. Starting 27th in the field of forty-four at Rockingham, Smith completed all but twenty laps in the race to record a career-best 4th place finish. Following that success, Smith ran two more races, finishing 33rd in Charlotte, but recovering to a 16th place finish at day's end.
Smith's next race came in Charlotte during the 1968, with Smith getting redemption for his poor run the year before. Starting 39th in the field of forty-four, Smith would complete all but eleven laps in the race and wound up with a solid 15th place run.
Smith's last run would then come at Michigan. Starting 36th in the field of forty, Smith lost his engine just thirty laps into the race and ended up with a disappointing 33rd place finish.
