BIOGRAPHY
Jim Bennett ( - November 11, 1990) was a NASCAR driver from Jonesboro, GA. He competed in seven Sprint Cup Series events in his career, earning two top-tens.

Bennett's debut came in 1961, when he competed at Daytona. Starting 12th in the field of thirty, Bennett completed all but four laps and finished a solid 11th place. He unfortunately could not match that in his next start, blowing a head gasket to finish 34th.

Bennett's other two races came in 1962, when he finished 63rd in points. He started off well again, placing 10th in the Qualifier event for the Daytona 500. That easily put him in the Daytona 500, where he finished 41st. After that, Bennett still ran well, finshing no worse than 19th in his final three starts, including a career-best 5th place run at Greenville and a 15th place finish at Myrtle Beach to end his career.
