| John Barker is a former NASCAR driver from Hickory, NC. He competed in eight Sprint Cup Series events in his career.
He debuted in 1949, racing in the inagural series event at Charlotte. Starting positions in the thirty-three car field are unknown, but Barker finished the event in 15th.
His other seven events occured in the 1951 season, when Barker drove mainly in Southeastern track. He scored his best career finish at Martinsville, recording a twelvth place effort. Sadly, it was also his only top-20, struggling throughout the year to finish races. He did manage to make the Southern 500 in his final career start, but finished just 60th and retired
