BIOGRAPHY
Lyndon Amick (born January 1, 1977, in Forsyth, Georgia) is a NASCAR driver. He spent most of his NASCAR career in the NASCAR Nationwide Series driving for his family-owned team.

Nationwide Series Career

Amick made his NASCAR Busch Series debut in 1997, driving the #35 Pontiac Grand Prix owned by his father, Bill. He had sponsorship from Rockwell Automation and ran fifteen races. His first career start in the 1997 race at Daytona International Speedway. He started in the 37th postiton in the 45-car field, but finished 44th after a multi-car crash on lap 28 forced him out of the race early. Out of the rest of the races he ran that season, he only managed a best finish of 15th at IRP and only had two other top-20 finishes. His best start was a 12th at the fall race at Darlington.

After his rookie run, Amick made a dozen starts in 1998. In back to back starts, Amick earned a 4th at Myrtle Beach and an 8th at South Boston. In his return back to IRP, Amick also earned a 3rd place starting position. He ended the season in 45th place in points.

In nineteen starts in 1999, Amick improved a little on 1998. Driving the #35 SCANA Pontiac, Amick recorded three top-10s: 5th at Talladega, 9th at California and a 10th at Memphis. Also, Amick matched his best career start of 3rd at Las Vegas. In additon, Amick's team had a good run with Elliott Sadler in some races in 1999.

Amick's most complete season was 2000. Amick had three top-10s, the best being a 9th at Richmond and a pair of tenths. In addition, Amick had seven other top-20s in 2000. However, Amick didn't qualify for three races and finished 28th in points.

Despite the good season, Amick lost sponsor SCANA, and could only scrape together six races in 2001. However, he made the most of it, earning a 7th at Watkins Glen International Raceway. Despite that run, it was offset by two crashes and one engine failure.

Amick still managed to land a good ride in 2002, driving the #26 Dr. Pepper Chevy full-time for Carroll Racing. However, Amick's season didn't go as well as he hoped. He managed a best finish of 14th at Rockingham, and after ten races and a 31st at Richmond, Amick was released in favor of Ron Hornaday. Ironcially, Amick's best weekend was a one-off deal with ppc Racing at Kansas. He started 12th and ran well to a 9th-place finish.

Despite the good run, Amick went unemployed. He did manage to scrape together a #32 Chevy for Braun Racing to run one race in 2003. It came at Talladega Superspeedway. Amick started well, running 11th and was in seventh, when on lap 9, Amick got caught up in the "Big One" and finished 36th.

Craftsman Truck Series

Amick did make four career Truck Series starts, all for ken Schrader. In 2000, Amick made his debut in the inagural race at Daytona. He started 3rd and ran well. He was seventh on lap 56, but unfortunately, Amick finished 22nd after a fiery crash with Geoff Bodine. Yet, Amick was back at IRP, and was back in full force. He started 13th, but led 7 laps and ran home to 2nd, barely losing to Joe Ruttman.

In 2001, Amick added on his latter two races. He ran solidly: 9th at Daytona and 13th at Nashville. Despite the solid runs, Amick didn't get a ride in that series, and fadely quickly, as he did from the Busch Series.
