BIOGRAPHY
Matt McCall (born July 3, 1981, in Denver, North Carolina) is a professional race car driver.Since making his NASCAR debut in 2003, Matt has gained invaluable experience on the track in the NASCAR Nationwide, NASCAR Camping World Truck, and ARCA Racing Series. Making history in 2009, Matt became the first repeat champion in the UARA Series. He earned four wins while posting 10 top 5s and 14 top 10s. Averaging a sixth place finish, Matt earned 1,492 points that left him with a 46-point lead going into the last event of the season.

Matt ran karts from 1990 until 1999, racing first in the Rookie division at age nine, then at the age of thirteen moving to the Adult division earning more than 150 wins. Traveling extensively along the east coast in the World Karting Association (WKA) Dirt Series from year to year, Matt obtained numerous wins, as well as, WKA’s "Most Improved Driver" and "Grand National Champion.” In 1996, Matt won the North Carolina State Dirt Series Championship in all three classes. Concluding his career in the karting realm, Matt earned two track championships and three state championships.

A significant racing series debut came in 1999 when Matt began running Super Sport races at Hickory Motor Speedway (HMS), finishing fourth in points. The following year, Matt won both “Rookie of the Year” and “Mechanic of the Year” awards. Combining stats from his years running at HMS, Matt claimed a track championship, 26 victories, and HMS “Most Popular Driver” award. His NASCAR Camping World Truck Series was made during his HMS stint at Martinsville Speedway in 2003.

In 2005, Matt was featured on the Discovery Channel’s "Roush Racing Gong Show," finishing fourth overall out of more than 2,000 aspiring race applicants. Following the show, Matt entered into the Robert Yates Racing driver developmental program, racing in five NASCAR Nationwide and two ARCA events.

When he is not racing or working on his racecar, Matt enjoys simulator racing, martial arts, working out, and running for charitable causes. Outside of racing, Matt has a unique passion for martial arts and is ranked a Third Degree Black Belt. Matt also simultaneously runs a business with his racing career, Matt McCall Motorsports or MX3. A 2003 graduate of UNC-Charlotte, Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Combined with time spent working at the family business and learning from some of NASCAR’s finest mechanics, Matt has acquired a knack for developing premium racing equipment.

While actively seeking sponsorship and continuing his pursuit of driving full-time in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Matt is excited for the 2010 season and moving forward in his career.
