| BIOGRAPHY
|
| Ron Eaton (August 11, 1943 - ) is a former NASCAR Northwest Series driver and champion from Tacoma, WA. He was the 1986, 1988, and 1995 champion of that tour, finishing second in championships and career wins (41) to all-time series legend Garrett Evans. Unlike Evans, however, Eaton had a rich NASCAR heritage dating back to the mid-1970s, when he began a NASCAR Winston West Series career that led to some 11 victories. To further cement his dominance as a West Coast racing legend himself, Eaton also tallied on one Southwest Series victory, capturing the trophy at Tuscon Raceway Park in 1996.
In addition to those impressive records, Eaton also holds NASCAR records for being the oldest winner in the Northwest Series (won at Wenatchee Valley Super Oval at the age of 57) and by site calculations appears to have been the second-oldest winner in Southwest Series history after that 1996 victory (52 years old), missing out on Dale Williams record of 56 years.
After NASCAR disbanded the Northwest Series, Eaton did a few years of touring with the ASA Northwest Tour, which most of the old NWS teams ended up racing in.
