Races & Series - Drivers - Tracks - Other Projects - Contact Us

As the Wiki is constantly changing and being updated, sometimes general questions, chat items, and concerns are left in the dust. That is why we have created an IRC Channel.

Once you have an IRC client, join the channel at webchat.freenode.net, #TheThirdTurn!
If you don't want to use an IRC client, you can use our CGI Gateway at http://irc.wikia.com and clicking the dropdown menu for #TheThirdTurn (near the end).

For more info on how to use IRC channels, visit IRC on Wikibooks.

Channel rules

  1. Talk About the Site - There are a few thousand message boards on the internet to discuss NASCAR information. We have found that most civil discussions about racing and rules gets ugly. Simply post your questions about the site, ask about a driver, or suggest new ideas.
  2. Be civil - harassment and insulting behavior are not tolerated.
  3. Don't spam the channel, and especially do not copy and paste reams of text. If you need to, please use a pasting service such as Pastey.net!
  4. DaNASCAT's - IRC Admin - word is final.
  5. Try to Speak in English - We love NASCAR being embraced outside of the United States, but try to write in as much English as possible. We will try to talk and help everyone but it makes things go smoother the more things are in one tongue.

Useful info

  • Most users idle on the channel. There is absolutely no requirement to be chatty or even respond to comments.
  • If you have a question, just ask it. If you don't get an answer straight away, you're probably not being ignored — other people are just busy!
  • Absolutely anyone is welcome to join — as with the wiki, the IRC channel is a neutral channel. (Admins, of course, still have final say.)
  • Due to the relatively small demand for the channel, few if any users might be on when you ask a question.

Operators and voicing

  • All administrators and technical staff of The Third Turn are encouraged to join and are automatically given channel operator privileges.
  • All users (even anonymous) may communicate on the IRC.
