| BIOGRAPHY
|
| Wayne Broome is a former NASCAR driver from Mt. Gilead, NC. He competed in two Sprint Cup Series events and one Nationwide Series event in his career.
Both of Broome's Cup starts came in 1979, when Broome debuted at Talladega. Starting 35th in the field, Broome finished 29th in the event after early engine issues. He was not even able to top that in his other race, starting 35th and finishing 30th at Pocono after more engine woes.
Broome's solo Busch (now Nationwide Series) start came in 1983, when he raced at Langley. Broome had another rough NASCAR event, finishing last (22nd) in the event after falling out very early.
